Sorry.... This timer and sequence cannot be user modified.

Why not make your own satellite list and as an example, arrange your KU satellites in order from East to West and the C satellites West to East or place the C and KU satellites side by side in the list?
I created a new satellite list as suggested. With no transponders in the new list I did a detailed scan of all satellites begining with 55.5W C-band. After five hours the scan was completed. It skipped all the KU sats or didn't find anything. One position has a KU sat only. During the scan it moved to that position but never reported any KU band info. Scan performance on the C-Band side was less than satisfactory, missing several channels. I scanned KU sats individually afterwards and had good results. My efforts to improve the multi-sat scan have made it worse :(

Still working with the multi-sat scan feature. After populating all sats in the list with transponders, (performed detail scan each sat and deleted channels), I've completed two full scans of all KU and C-band birds. via Transponder search all channels, and deleted channels and FTA only search. These scans did not miss a thing. I figured why I was missing some C-Band channels from an earlier scan. The microHD labeled some channels $ that MyTheatre didn't, ie FTV HD on 55.5W C-Band.

It took 50 min to do a complete scan of 48 birds. How much of that time was the microHD waiting for the "moving dish" popup? A lot! In other words this thing is fast!

NBC West on C-Band is freezing/glitching. All other NBC's are fine as well as any other channel I have viewed. What is so special about this one?

glad you brought that up. I hooked up my friend's receiver, configured AMC-18 with his receiver and diseqc motor, then went to demo NBC TV Network C-band and NBC E,C,Mtn were fine but W was glitchy and freezing!

don't know what the problem is, assuming the H264 decoder is true and not just ALI's attempt at making a close-enough decoder that will work with H264 streams. NBC MTN and WEST are both about 14 mb streams, NBC East and Central are about 10-11 mb streams and if bitrate was the issue, I'd expect NBC MTN to be glitchy/freezing, also.

also had stuttering/glitching with escapes on G16, but that was a lot more subtle than the obvious NBC West issue.

EDIT: signal level was 90 on both, signal quality was 85 on NBC and 80 on escapes so it shouldn't be a weak/marginal signal issue. If Brian needs a TS sample of the NBC or escapes mux (or just the glitchy program within the mux) let me know and I have a file upload site I can give him a link to so he can download it for engineers to look at.

I am not able to drive my dish motor through the VBox using the East/West buttons in the Switch/Motor menu. The motor is set to DiSEqC. Has anyone else tried to use this feature? Similarly the VBox will not respond to "Go to X" when changing to a saved satellite position. Thanks

I can't speak to "Go to X" but I know last weekend when I delivered a receiver to a friend, interfaced it to his VBOX positioner and started programming in sats into the microhd, I was able to use the east/west buttons (firmware 7/6/12) to drive the dish east and west to peak up on a signal before I stored its diseqc sat position. I'd say make sure the motor is set to "diseqc 1.2" and you probably need to change the diseqc position from "0" to something else before you can use the E/W buttons to fine tune a positio before selecting SAVE.

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps its with my set up as the VBox is located about 30' away and maybe the distance is causing the DiSEqC pulse to become distorted and unreadable by the VBox.

DiSEqC and USALS signals should travel several hundred feet through good quality coax and connections. 30' should not be an issue.

Have you reviewed the sticky thread on sharing DiSEqC 1.2 devices? www.satelliteguys.us/microhd-discussion/287436-sharing-diseqc-1-2-motors-controllers.html

Reviewed DiSEqC sticky (good info). Did Factory reset . Strange the dish will move to some saved positions and not to others even if I resave the position. THanks for the help.

Anybody getting lightning insurance for my unit and power? I got shut down, lightning and power out for 10 seconds, and it came back on, and everything crackled back to life. No problem in the microHD yet.

But if the memory skips a beat, have you hooked up a hundred wires to this unit and read the code coming out compared to the picture; gonna take a really good jig to do so, so justify replacing what it wrong with what is right.

1) The power supply runs cool, but the receiver runs very warm in its small case. And heat may be a small problem, but so is this microHD. I won't put it in my torture chamber cabinet that heats up to 100 F all day, i do not think.

Can the power chips be isolated, or beefed up somehow; Oh, I'll take apart mine and look. Hmmm.

2) time shift/dvr works fine, unless you are wanting scanning in and looking to do other things; for quickness in feel of remote function; needs a bigger processor; oh and and then a bigger case; then a bigger PS and board; hell, might as well start all over, right?.

for the unit; a triple thumbs up! for the future, next. This one works fine!

Manual PID entry for audio/video signals without an SI stream doesn't work.

I manually added a signal to the receiver that I found but had no SI stream. All PIDS were unencrypted. I then changed scan mode from "NORMAL" to "PID" for that signal and punched in the values for video, audio, PCR and hit "OK". When the scan finished, there was a "no program found" error. My expectation was a new channel written to microhd memory using the video/audio/PCR values that I entered with not mattering if a SI steam existed or not.

On a channel with a good SI table, I did a test of manual PID entry using the PIDS for that signal. It worked (but microhd cheated by looking at the SI stream to match the PIDs I entered to the SI stream and then wrote the channel to memory using the service ID from the SI stream).

EDIT: using 7/6 firmware as grabbed from this site and installed by USB drive.

This seems to have smoothed out the past few days. I haven't noticed any glitching at all. NBC must have done something on their end. All is well in MicroHD land. :)

Bug on one of the settings (mikelib PM'd me about it and I confirmed it)

When you go into OSD settings if you change transparency to anything (10%, 20% etc) when you exit out teletext automatically turns from OFF to ON
If you change transparency back to 0% teletext stays on

I caught that too this morning but was too busy testing the mircoHD and LNBF's to comment.

What is the correct LO setting for a SuperDish?
