Lately my S10 has been a pain in the @$$ with LOS. When powered on works but within minutes it loses all signal. My first thoughts were that my Diseqc went bad. Switched with new one and same deal. Checked my LNBs and they are working fine with my Azbox along with the same Diseqc Ive been using for almost 2yrs now.

Even my HH120 motor is moving very slow and at times it dont even move at all.

Emailed the seller I got it from and they said to reload the factory firmware which Id already had to begin with and same crap with LOS.

Ive only had this S10 since June and craps out on me. I have an old Pansat 2500 that I use still and still works like a champ.

Now waiting on my RMA and hopefully they send me a brand new one.

Who knows maybe if they do replace it with a new one I might end up selling it on CL.

Seems to be a nagging problem with the S10. I have sent mine away to the seller to fix or replace the unit. See this thread and post here.

That was an interesting thread.
I wonder if the diode/cap in series would fix the diseqc 1.2/universal lnb signal quality problem when you are trying to tweak the motor setup.

the power supply in the s9 has the same output voltages as a 2000 power supply for a desktop. if mine goes out again, i will hook it up to the computer powersupply. charlie

they told me warranty void if 3rd party firmware installed on my s10,which there was since I received it with euro firmware/satlist installed and had to load something so I could watch tv.

And you will wait and wait and wait. My problem with them is in the fourth month and still on going!
NEVER purchase from them!

They are about 30min from my home so I might just drop by and bring their POS back and get my replacement on the spot.

Ok here is my update on Shop4FTA.

They emailed me this morning stating the following:

Our customer support team personnel has replied to your support request #292892

Sorry it's outside the 30 days in-store warranty.
You need to buy a new one or contact the manufacture to claim the 1 year warranty.
If you want us to handle it, you need to pay for the shipping and repair fee.

Thank you.

So I went ahead and looked up Opensat directly and they mention the following:

The manufacturer in China offers distributors a 1 year limited warranty on parts only.
The distributor sends the parts to China, they then send back.
You can't send a whole STB to China.
The very important thing that many other distributors won't tell you and/or don't know is that only the distributor/dealer can send parts in for warranty replacement. The end user cannot send in parts, let alone an STB and get it serviced.

If you read many fleabay and dealer sites terms and conditions they state that STB's must be sent back to the manufacturer for warranty service. Since the end user can't do that per the manufacturer, and because you can't send a STB to China (import regulations) the 1 year manufacturer warranty advertised by many dealers is BOGUS.

So these guys at SHOP4FTA are a bunch of liars with their so called FULL warranty all over their site and on ebay.

I just filed a complaint with BBB and we will see what happens. I requested my money back or a brand new unit replaced.

stay tuned ...

I would volunteer my time to look at your openbox but i am concerned that i would be deludged with defective units. i was able to fix the power supply in my solomend and would gladly accept a few of the power supplys to check out. my intuition says that the power supply would likely be interchangeable with my power supply on the solomend and should be able to be repaired if it infact was defective. however, i think i would rather have a new receiver from geopro than a fixed openbox. when i do get my new geopro receiver i can have the time to open my openbox again and jot down some powersupply voltages that should give a technician the information needed to tell if the power supply was working or defective. any other ideas? charlie
