New azbox software out

OK just did the update and does change channels much faster.

azboxedit times out when executed, guess it does not support it.

My AZbox Editor ( ver 2880c) works as well on this firmware as the earlier ones. Maybe your IP address got changed by the update ?
:)

Thanks.. I had version 2371 and now updated to 2880 and works great.. :D

I'll download it to the azbox later and try it out :)

Hi Iceberg , Just got mine yesterday( Azbox E ) , had 9.966 in it. With this forums help got it going w/ 9.2880 worked on Nascar channels good. Last night updated thru ethernet Internet to 9.3877 . All is well , all channels stayed/ Utube works now... hope this helps someone.

Updated my box today. It's working OK with the new firmware but I haven't checked everything.

I'm still trying to figure out why the time is in GMT instead of local time. The settings show that the time offset is correct.

auto set time goes by the satellite TP you are on which is usually never right. I set it to manual and havent had any issues

I'm using the internet to set time and it is always correct. This problem started after upgrading and then rolling back firmware.

Exactly. Auto Synchronize -> Internet
This sets the time to an accurate atomic clock.

If you don't have this box connected to the Internet, you miss out on a lot of functionality.

By the way, after applying the new FW, the Azbox rebooted itself. However, it was acting funky until I recycled the power on it.

What happened with the funkiness was - changing audio volume with the Azbox remote would look like it changed from the indicator on the screen, but there was no apparent effect. Also, when changing a channel, the indicator telling that the motor was changing to a different motor position did not come up. (And the motor did not seem to be working.)

I guess some folks forgot post 1 ;)
sorry Tony, I should never go to last page.

here's a new loading bug to 0.9.3877 firmware.

There are a few cases where a password requested to get into menu area after loading, (0000) does not work. Reloading software over does not cure.
This procedure I have found that it works 100%:-

1) put the latest firmware patch onto a usb stick
2) If you are doing a total re-set up of your box and want to wipe everything clear then delete plugins, and do factory re-set.
3) then turn off your box at the back and put usb stick in again at the back underneath the ethernet cable port
4) turn box back on and a menu will appear
5) select number 4 which is FORMAT APPLICATION AREA this will wipe the firmware and any corrupt software off of your box and ensure a clean install
6) after formatting is done select the option to update by usb stick
7) system will show you what current one is and new patch one is
8) click proceed to confirm action
9) when its finished and it will take a while, then the box will reboot itself
10) select reboot without update,

Now take out the usb stick {if you are parenoid about corrupting the usb stick turn the box off at the mains then remove the usb stick
