:confused: well maybe iv'e found the right place to ask the question now we have just purchased an orasatV5.0, a76cm dish with rotor , an LNBF .we been asking questions everywhere . we live in rockingham north carolina ,our zip code is 28379 we can't get it to track . the screen on the tv is black except for the install and system . we have a satellite finder also so we should be able to pick up something.we've been working with it for about two or three weeks, but so far nothing it gets kind of discourageing.my husband never gives up on anything
 
What channels are you looking for?

Best to remove the motor for now and find store your true south satellite first!

thanks . could you tell me something else? what does loop out mean on the back of the orasatV5.0?
 
that's where you can run a line out to another receiver. both of them would be on the same satellite and same polarity.
 
could you show me a picture of the clarke belt. where the satellites are?
 
The "Clarke Belt" (named for science fiction author Arthur C. Clark, who hypothesized its existence in one of his novels) is the area 22500 (approx) miles above the equator where an object in orbit moves at approx 1 revolution per 24 hours, thus appearing to remain stationary above that specific point on the equator.

You can find it with a compass and the list provided by PSB above, if you look in any of the "Az (M)" (Azimuth) directions at an angle of n the "El" (Elevation) value above level. It would look like an arc stretching from the southeast to the southwest, with its highest point at your true south which is in your case 79 degrees. So if you look directly south and 49.4 degrees up and you have a really good telescope you could theoretically see AMC5. The other satellites are at progressively lower elevations to the left and right of there.

we have a 76cm dish with single lnbf. what type do i put the set on ,universal, standard, wideband, or osc-c-band? on the lnbf it has hi-11.7-12.75ghz lo 10.75ghz
