Welcome! I'm also playing around with the same receiver - lots of good info on the various boards here. To get you started, go to the FTA Manuals section and you can download the manual for your CS.
Note: Manual isn't real clear on what to do when you hit the "enter PIN" screen. Factory default is 0000.

You should'nt need any software, just a 36" or better dish and a linear lnb, Keep us posted and good luck.
LAK - if you look at the site, they no longer support the 6000.
