Why would the Ranger game on the NHL network be blacked out? Does it have to do with MSG?

Where are you located?

If the game is on NHL Net and you live "in market" of one of the two teams playing, regardless if the RSN that is carrying it locally is available, you are blacked out.

I'm even blacked out of the replay (well tape delayed to Sunday) late Hockey Night in Canada broadcast if the MN Wild play (I'm in Minnesota)

Sorry I'm in Central New York. Thursdays Devils game on NHL is blacked out too.

yep thats why its blacked out....so even thought MSG isnt carried right now on Dish you're still blacked out

Philly fans are the same way for Flyers games (no RSN on satellite)

Well how is it that the Habs and ??? from the other night was blacked out for me in the Springfield MA dma. And as of right now the Rangers and Maple leafs are blacked out right now.

Maybe the Rangers claim your market?

edit: checked the D* RSN site (I know this is the E* side but they dont have something as thorough as this) and no they dont claim your area. So then I dont know
