Odd billing activity

I was recently looking at billing transactions on my account as I had changed from Premier for the 1st 3 months after signup to Xtra with a couple of Premiums added. All looked right when they did the entries on 4/1/2014, but then on 4/2/2014 they added a charge marked "Premier -$0/3MosPick4". I called D* and the only answer was that it would take care of itself on 4/6/2014.

I figure that means they will get the money and nothing more, so yeah, that takes care of itself. I want to know what the damned charge is for. I figure if they can't really tell me what it is, then it isn't legit.

Anyone got a clue what it is??

Since you dropped/changed programming, it's probably the prorated price for the balance of your monthly charge. They charge ahead for programming.

but note that they charged a prorated charge for HBO/SHO, and charged a prorated charge for Xtra, which is correct. And they credited a prorated charge for Premier, which is also correct.

What I cannot account for is the $11.20 for what appears to be part of the 3 months free of the 4 movie Premiums which is part of the startup package. It appears to me to be a charge for something that was free to begin with.
 
They always charge ahead of the next billing cycle (prorated) I believe they credit back on the next bill.

Aha!! I finally figured out what that $11.20 charge is.

New/returning customer gets $48/month discount for the 4 premium movie channels. Since I cancelled Premier, part of that discount was forfeited. BUT, D* was generous to themselves and I'll get that taken care of. Since I had 1/4 of a month for the $48, should be $12 IF I had cancelled all the premiums, since I didn't, I should get $6 credited back. This ought to be an interesting, and most likely frustrating, phone call! I think I'll do it via email instead.
 
If you change your programming most of the time you will incur pro rated charges. Meaning you get charged for what you used (however many days) on the old package. Plus the charge for the new package.
