CDV was used for some cartoons out of China. I probably have one or two still, somewhere. Don't recall if it was used for anything else.

I bet you mean DVD quality picture. Best I can recall, CD-Video was pretty bad worse than VHS

Yep , I remember making some pretty crappy crushed down from DVD to CD's, lol. Also remember when cable first went to digital (DVD Quality) only a few channels and being amazed and happy with how great the picture was and that was mostly really old Disney movies and such.

Another cost saver, to cut down on number of DVR/Receivers needed use audio video IR extenders either composite or HDMI over cat6. Who ever cooks most their bedroom DVR to kitchen, if dad mostly watches in living room it's DVR to garage and or patio or where ever else he would want to watch etc. just need more remotes (pain carrying around) for each location.
