The new 80gb has no ps2 compatibility. The older 80gb bundles Motorcross or MGS4 had about 85% compatibility. They also had 4 USB ports and card reader slots which is a easy way to recognize them.

All PS3 have software PS1 compatibility.

I concur. Older 80gig dude here. 85% is being generous.

They improved upon the BC in the sw models, I thought it was higher than 85%. Either way, the games I have played haven't had problems, I stopped checking the Sony's compatibility site when I browse Gamestop.

I don't play any PS2 games, but my son stilll does. Most of his seem to work, but there are some that don't.
