This is how I spent my afternoon. Im gonna let it set for the next week before putting the dish on. :) I made a notch in the bottom of the pole on both sides and cut some wood so the knotch on the pole and the wood that I cut notches into slid in together making a T. The notch (the metal part) I lifted up and curled it also, so that should be enough to keep the pole from moving once this concrete fully cures. I put a bag of quick creet on the bottom and a normal bag of concrete on the top. Brought the pole down about 3 to 4 feet. Picked up a 10 foot black IRON 3 inch Schedule 40 pipe today from the local steel yard. 90 bucks with tax for the pole. IT was good to get this in as it got me away from other worries :)

Good work Bob, that is a good looking dish, I bet it will give you some great signals.

Thanks to LAK7 for the dish, ITs a great dish, a little hail damage but I dont think It will affect anything. I just want the concrete to set in good. I might do a solid concrete box/base around it. Ill just wait and see how good this sets in :)

Nice from the pix it looks like Unimash Dish . I have 2 Unimash dishes a 7.5 and a 10 footer.

If anyone out there is looking for a like new 10" footer by Unimash send me a PM

A curb is a good idea, but it is just as easy to mix a small batch and put a small crown of cement at the pole base so it sheds water away from the pole.

Nice install!

I had a hunch that 2 bags of concrete wont be par, although the pole is in rock solid. I did a curb like that, I made a square box 3 feet by 3 feet. I havent had a chance to take pictures of it yet. I used 4 bags of concrete for that, and one extra bag of concrete down the pipe. I would think that would be enough. That would be a total of 7 bags used.

You can bring your conduit up beside your base and just use some conduit boxes to change directions flush. thats how I did mine.

I always found it easier to run the pvc in the concrete then 90 out a few inches below. Clean install and protects the cable from the weedeater.

So the concrete has cured, and tonight I decided to see how the dish looks on the pole, man this thing is huge. Here are some pics, the last one is of me and put's it all in to perspective.

Looks good! It's not big it's small! After looking at my 12 foot for 20 years it gets smaller trust me. :)
