Well, WBTV is my "go to" channel for local news, so it's been rather inconvenient for channel 3 to be off for the last 5 days, and I can't get OTA because of Grandfather Mountain. SOL is the phrase, but I FULLY support Dish in this dispute.

Oh man, could you imagine? How awesome would it be to get a credit from the networks themselves? Why is it the TV providers that always have to give the discounts?

No idea, but it would be awesome.
If you say so. I still don't see how there's even a credit (for the networks) to be given. Presumably, at whatever point they cutoff the signal, they're no longer charging the provider. So you want them to give a credit for something they're not getting paid for?

I have cable, dish and ota with a module on my 222vip to catch the ota. and I have a rotor to get Lincoln, Omaha, and Sioux city. but don't think any of our locals are giving dish a hard time yet. I do hope time warner and dish stick to their guns. social security is not covering the increases in our expenses. charlie

I know everyone has their preference, but if I were you I'd much rather watch WJHL or WCYB - assuming you can get those OTA.

It's crazy. I'm less than 20 miles from the TN towers, but I live on the east side of Stone Mountain, a few hundred feet down from the summit, and can't get a signal. I always liked the east TN stations though, when they were analog.

DISH to Raycom: ‘Match contract language to your public statements and we'll sign'

DISH ready to sign deal if Raycom commits to market rates
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DISH customers in 36 markets remain in the dark today despite DISH's (NASDAQ: DISH) commitment to pay market rates to retransmit Raycom stations.

The following statement is attributable to Sruta Vootukuru, DISH director of programming:

"DISH is ready to sign a deal right now if Raycom will match the words in the contract with its message to viewers. Raycom has publicly told its viewers that they are willing to give DISH the same deal as other providers. All we're asking is for Raycom to put that on paper and we're ready to sign the deal now."

The real pisser is that wcyb and others are significantly viewed per fcc, but only charter and the telco can offer them.

I have considered a (move) to a TN address.Only thing is wife watches a lot of WSOC,not sure WKPT would suit her as well.

Some people claim they have to charge all providers the same rates (per viewer). I find that hard to believe myself.... It makes no sense charging Comcast (a nationwide provider) the same per-viewer rate that they charge a small or municipal cable service that may only have a few thousand customers. Unless there's an FCC rule on this....
