I think everything will be IP based eventually, everything streaming off a broadband connection whether it be wireless or hardwired.

Not until everybody, and I mean everybody, has high speed broadband. We are a long way from that nationwide.....

That is where the word EVENTUALLY comes in. Eventually everybody will have broadband in one shape or form. It will happen someday.

Not going to happen for a number of reasons, including scaling issues. IP video delivery will continue to grow to augment primary video delivery, but it's not really a replacement technology.

Broadband in the USA is not fast enough yet...

Satellite and cable will remain the main provider of stuff like full hd, 3D and other technology for quite awhile. But yes IPTV is going to be coming strong and personally I am excited to see it. :)

So as I promised here is the list of HD that is currently up in testing on Dish Network. While the channels are in testing, it does not mean that customers will EVER see these channels. I have no idea or even a clue when these channel will launch.

Here we go..

TMP59 is testing E! HD
TMP60 is testing Hallmark E
TMP61 is testing Sportman
TMP63 is testing Outdoor Channel HD
TMP64 is testing TruTV HD
TMP65 is testing EPIX HD (Looks like SD only is getting launched this week)
TMP10 is testing BBC America HD
TMP11 is testing QVC HD
TMP12 is testing SHORTS HD
TMP13 is testing Showtime West HD
TMP14 is testing Retro HD (An Encore Channel)
TMP15 is testing Indie HD (An Encore Channel)

Are you SURE these are all HD channels? I know that currently, Retro & Indie & Sportsman are NOT provided in HD yet.
Also, did you actually mean Hallmark HD?

Oh yea, forgot about that article - I do remember about Starz Black & Cinema, though.
Truthfully, I'll never understand why they didn't at least do S-Cinema HD - it seems like such an obvious choice to have done in HD when all the others launched. (as opposed to Starz K&F  )
