It reminded me of what I dislike about the new generation Doctor Who -- everything being fixed in the last moments in a torrent of technobabble.Abandon all hope of Science being part of the Science Fiction equation.
Treating sub-atomic particles like some sort of nanites or magic pixie dust is obscene.
Trek has always had technobabble. Voyager was probably the worst offender in that category...It reminded me of what I dislike about the new generation Doctor Who -- everything being fixed in the last moments in a torrent of technobabble.
I didn't watch Voyager, but, it's not the technobabble by itself, it's the miraculously fixing everything at literally the last minute with a deus ex machina -level event.Trek has always had technobabble. Voyager was probably the worst offender in that category...
Voyager was famous (infamous?) for technobabble explanations for why something (when at a crucial moment in the plot) would or wouldn't work. It got old after a while.I didn't watch Voyager, but, it's not the technobabble by itself, it's the miraculously fixing everything at literally the last minute with a deus ex machina -level event.
When I saw the "Previously on Strange New Worlds" review, I was "Oh, no!" but powered through the episode. Carole Kane gets several great lines, which…I started to watch today's new episode and quickly found it was yet another ridiculous "throw-away" episode. That's at least three this season. Unbelievable!!!!!
Star Trek: The Return of Runa

Too many cooks in the kitchen, combined with too many chiefs and not enough indians. There are upwards of a dozen "producers" of varying degrees (at least four levels).IMHO this season of SNW is the worst season of Star Trek made.
Maybe it was "Q"…And they end the season with a "space baby".![]()
And the episode was fairly good up until that part (if you again, as always, ignore some science), then after it made the whole episode seem idiotic. And they end the season with a "space baby".![]()
