Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Well, they already had an episode with Boimler and the rest of the bunch from ST Lower Decks... Why not this?
Give me good ST adventures, good sci-fi, please. You have 10 eps per season, don't waste them with musicals, animation crossovers (although that was amusing, it wasn't worth an entire episode when you only get 10) or puppets. Those are my reasons for asking WHY?

Oh, come on, the Opening Credits with the nacelle parasite was pretty clever. The problem with this episode was it required knowledge of the crew of "Lower Decks". I had to get my Trekker friend to watch "Lower Decks" which had never been on his radar because he's an adult and didn't have time for cartoons. Turns out, he became a huge fan of this Star Trek show with all its deep ST references that made up many "Lower Decks" episodes.

As I said, I found it amusing, but I didn't find it worth taking up 1/10 episodes that comprise a "season" now. I would've much preferred a good, solid ST episode instead. Same with the musical. Last season, for me anyway, they wasted 20% of it...

As of today, they have wasted 50% of this season. Tried to be clever and cutsey. And Scotty is over the top! At least the closing credits were kind of fun.

Watched it last night... Um, wow, what the hell are they doing?

Loved the intro and end credits and even though they copied a lot of the endings of Stargate SG-1's "Wormhole Xtreame" and "200" episode "outake" ideas, it was still amusing. Had they they done the "show within a show" (the part on film), in B&W, it would've been an almost complete lifting of Voyager's "Bride Of Chaotica" episode in style.

What they did with Scotty was a crime...

2/5 stars and we're almost halfway through the "season"...

OK, they had their STUPID tripple play (Musical, Wedding, self-deprecating TV show), now let's get back to some space adventures...called Star Trek!!! It needs a course correction, and it needs it NOW!

If it doesn't get a course correction, then like "MysteryMan" said, it needs a viewer-activated sel-destruct (000-destruct-0)... As it stands with me now, they owe me two extra episodes this season... The remaining 6 eps had better all be top-notch.

I'd like to see a more complete conclusion to the cliffhanger. Too much went unexplained.

Two stars for the season thus far is generous. If there aren't any new storylines, don't make any new episodes.

Homages aren't all that -- especially when they bend canon into a pretzel.
