Tilt off 2 degrees

I have had Directv for about a year. I just today looked on the dish at the tilt setting and its off by 2 degrees and is supposed to be set on 70 for my area. Should I put that directly on the 70 for the tilt? It was put there by the installer. I can post my signal levels when I have time.

As long as your signal levels are good, don't worry about where the dish is set. The installer likely adjusted it that way when it was installed.

He may have had to use that setting if the mast wasn't perfectly plumb.

I know the pole is plumb! I installed it myself. But as long as I get the picture as good as I have been getting it, maybe no reason to touch it. I was just wondering about it after I got to looking at the dish.

Did you have a chance to look at your signal levels?

Those are good solid numbers. They could be a little higher, but you should be fine.

The tilt setting is not critical for the 99, 101 and 103 levels, only 119 and, to a lesser extent, 110. You are fine.

The dishes settings are almost never correct. Hate to say it but Diret's dishes are terrible for that.

The info given on the recvr in the set up section for dish pointing is a reference point, a place to start, nothing more.

OP, your numbers are fine.
