Timer not recording

I set up a timer for my WIFE, to record Dr Oz on Fox 11 out of LA.
Today she is yelling at me because Dr Oz did not record yesterday.
I checked the timer. It was set for new only. Since Oz has only been on Fox 11 since Monday I assumed it would be a new show, especially since the topic of concern was Joan Rivers.

Why did it not record?

Perhaps the first air date was older than the date the show aired on your station, i.e. not new.
