Short answer is Yes! I now have image slots on my Edision Mio+ filled with two TNAP 5.1 and one TNAP 6 image. I am slowly migrating over to TNAP 6 but I keep TNAP 5.1 ready to use at any time just requiring a quick reboot of the Mio+. One of the reasons I still use TNAP 5.1 is because I haven't yet blind scanned all satellites for TNAP 6.

Some reasons I like TNAP 6:
  • Supports Tuner C on my Mio+ to use for the Hauppauge 950Q USB dongle for OTA. My most current version of TNAP 5.1 does not support this dongle. This is a known problem on more recent versions of TNAP 5.1 that won't be resolved.
  • Has a driver selector plugin so I can switch easily between no-T2MI, T2MI, and T2MI with low SR transponder support drivers. This is important so you can improve blind scan speed and accuracy.
  • Youtube videos play.
  • Has a plugin that easily and automatically creates IPTV bouquets matching any genre, country source, language you choose. If you have a fast Internet connection, IPTV arguably provides better/more entertainment than satellite these days. It all depends on your viewing preference and habits.
  • Has a plugin that supports creating a Pluto TV bouquet.
  • Comes preloaded with ALL satellites in the world with their transponders already configured. You can, of course, update the satellite and transponder lists as you wish. Actually, some satellites may be missing but most satellites across Europe, Asia and North America are included. Mood Music channels on 101W Ku are included too.
  • The image is fairly stable now.
  • Blind scan can be fast and accurate! If I use the no-T2MI driver with the MIS tp switch at OFF, then blind scan speed rivals my formerly-preferred GT Media V9 Prime. The different drivers can give dramatically different results so you need to use the driver that suits what you're doing.
  • You can easily copy an entire scanned-in-satellite with all channels over to User bouquets in one action. It's so easy and quick that this is how I create new User bouquets. I copy the entire satellite's list of channels and just delete the channels I don't want in the bouquet.
  • TNAP 5.1 is finished in the sense of support. TNAP 6 is now the only TNAP version being supported.
  • The TNAP 6 support site (legitfta.com) is now updated and stable.
TNAP 6 is like a Sony TV. After you obtain it, then you start to discover its good engineering and features that you may not have been aware of before obtaining it.

... I was staying with 5.1 was the low bitrate driver.
Unfortunately, when I used the T2MI Module with Small Symbol Rates driver the results were terrible on a blind scan of 117W C. That driver produced only 26 tps. I only ran this test one time. But the No-T2MI Kernel Module produced 55 tps. I ran this again today and I believe I got 57 tps. So I'm sticking with the latter driver. A good scientific test suite using these different drivers in different situations might be up your alley.

hahaha you know me well! Yes I shall run some tests... I think 117W is indeed an interesting test subject. 40.5W is also an interesting one, as it has some T2MI transponders, but it's overall a bit weak, so results do vary because some TPs are just around locking threshold

How do I enable neutrino mode?
If you're talking about legacy-style (or as I like to call it, sane) channel navigation with the arrow keys, Menu>Setup>System>GUI Settings>User interface. There are two entries there, "Enable 'neutrino' style zap controlling" and "Enable 'neutrino' style channel select controlling" I have no idea what the difference is, because I only remember one of them being there the last time I looked, and I thought "zap" was Enigma-speak for changing channels...

DISCLAIMER: I'm not using the default skin, and I don't know if entries in this menu can be varied by the skin.

I treied all 8 GUI skins and did not see the neutrino choice. Which skin are you using? Thanks for the response. (and you too cyberham)

I'm using one called Copper-FHD, which is not in the TNAP repository. I don't remember where I downloaded it a few years ago.

Maybe we should ask El Bandido on the official TNAP forum? I seem to remember that Neutrino-style controls were the default in TNAP 5.x and below, I'm not sure why it would've changed.

Guys, thanks for enlightening me. I thought norman881 was joking in Post #9. I've not heard the term 'neutrino' other than the scientific particles.

I am using the PLi-FullNightHD skin. I find if I switch ON the 'Enable neutrino style channel select controlling' that my remote control functions like in TNAP 5.1 and earlier. I like it this way and will leave it.

I had started to adapt to TNAP 6 and was getting used to the new remote control functions. But why change if we can have what we're used to?
