I bought fta KU satellite dish kit and it came with a Dreambox100 Receiver. I set up the dish and connected the receiver to the tv, but none of the fta satellites were listed on the sat finder screen that was showing up on the tv. I was planning on connecting to Galaxy 19 at 97W but it's not shown. What do you guys think I should do?

Think Dreambox comes from Germany so is likely set up for Eauropean satellites. There is likely a way to add satallites/positions. Maybe look at their wiki on-line, or if a manual is supplied. Maybe someone on the forum has experience with one of these and can give you some more particular instructions. They may have a downloadable NA satellite list available. I am sure you will get it going on 97W.
If you already have a dish pointing at 97W, try blind scanning using any sat on the list. Just make sure you enter the proper LO (likely 10750). Also enter any diseqc/22KHz switch positions you might require for your system, but if using only one dish these likely do not apply. Some channels should scan... as long as you are pointed at (a) satellite.
Merry Christmas!

Now I am a newbie at this and don't really understand how to blind scan with the receiver It says from where I bought the box that it is brand new and not programmed and the only functionality is to turn on. There isn't much online about it but I have read about a few people on this forum with the same problem with the same Dm100 box.

The Local Oscilator Frequency you need for the receiver menu should be written on the LNB.
For a KU-band LNB it could be something like 9750/10600 or 10600 or 10700 or 10750.

If you cannot find a number on the LNB, try 10600 and see what you get (at which frequencies) with the blind scan.
With that information you can determine the true LOF.

If the LNB mentions 'universal LNB' (used in Europe mainly, I believe) it should be 9750 (low band) and 10600 (high band).

Hmmmm... The blind scan doesn't seem to be doing anything. I tried putting in a random satellite (Hotbird 6/8/9) and tried a blind scan hoping that if I was aimed at Galaxy 19 it would pick up the channels but nothing. I attached a picture of the options for the channel search so I'm not sure what to change.

Stratton you mentioned in PM you thought you had a Standard lnb..If thats the case change the LNB Frequency to 10750...You should really take a ride over to my house and I can show you how all this works..Enjoy meeting a local.

I'll try changing the Frequency to 10750 and see how that goes. On a trip this weekend. Thanks for the offer, maybe some other time. I would love to know how this works.
Ur less than 10 minutes away..Offer open....BTW how do you know ur sittin on Galaxy 19?..You have a meter?

I like the Sat Hero 200 and 300 meters..Have one of each. The 300 has a SA but kinda low budget.Still the same these are nice meters for the money.

I met Stratton just a little while ago.Much to my surprise we have a very smart young man of 14 getting into this hobby. It was a pleasure meeting him and his father.

Stratton is getting his feet wet and it is really cool to see young folks get into the hobby. We went over the basics of dish alignment and various signals, modulations etc!...He wanted to get a dish parked at Galaxy 19 @ 97w Ku so I figured a good thing to do would be move one of my Ch Master 1m`s parked at Galaxy 3c @ 95w..Figure playing around with one of the current Ch Master Primestars already parked at Galaxy 19 would have been just too easy..lol..

We were running out of sunlight but I did not have to teach Stratton much as he was already familiar with the Clarke Belt..Picked it up like a champ.

Stratton here is a short list of 24/7 Transponders that are DVBS..When ya get a hang of it then I bet you will want a receiver that is capable of DVBS2 signals.
Til then this will get ya going.Once you can lock these signals blind scan is your friend.;).I will be sending you a link to a very cheap DVBS2 receiver and also will send you a North American Sat list of which I made to load into it.Have fun.

The Green City... about 22 miles from my previous home of 50+ years. That's good country down there...especially once you cross over into Randolph County.lol

Someone had a smaller BUD listed down there about a year ago. I looked at it but didn't need another smaller BUD. Think it was a 6 ft... IIRC.

BTW, I still have a 7.5' if anyone wants it for free. Only 1.5 hrs from Greensboro. Just over the Virginia line.
