So I have a hopper with sling and I'd like to know if I use my sling to watch live tv or DVR recordings in a place away from home, would it use up a lot of my data allowance on dishnet internet service?

I realize it's streaming video content, but I just need to know since it's uploading the content so I can access it somewhere else would it affect me as bad as if I were downloading it at home?

Given that both RX and TX data are counted against your monthly data, yes. Extended viewing will chew up and spit out your data allowance inna heartbeat.
