So you could save $20/mo. to eliminate this outdated plug-in? Sorry if I'm being dense here, but I really don't see the value of the Talkatap App. I'm perfectly fine using a browser to access my Forum sites.
No the $20 a month is just to get rid of the smart banner... the annoying banner that pops up when you access the site on a browser on a mobile device.

So, even without having Tapatalk installed, you still have to pay $20 to remove the Nag pop-up to upgrade to Premium?

And using a browser makes it "almost" the same as using a computer so why not just use a browser on your mobile device.

Hi Scott, I just ran into something I did not expect. I was travelling in Europe over the past few weeks, and was surprised that I could not connect to SatelliteGuys unless I ran a VPN to the US. I was using a residential connection on Orange in France. No problem with other websites, just SatelliteGuys was not working. Unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot so I don't remember if I was getting a timeout or an actual error page from your server

Is this intentional? I doubt it as we have a few European members in the FTA forum. Or maybe a problem specific to the ISP I was using. I know I have used SatelliteGuys from France before but I think it was with a different ISP

We have been getting major attacks from foreign VPN's. The firewall automatically handles and blocks those attacks. Those bans are only for a few hours, but if that IP again tries attacking it is blocked again. The only countries we have blocked due to excessive hacking attempts are China, Russia and one more I can't think of at the moment.

hmm, that's weird - I tried a few times over 2 weeks and could never connect. Maybe that ISP had a DNS caching problem and was just not resolving the name.

For the little I use my mobile to access Satelliteguys, I am just using the Satelliteguys app now. It works fine for this.
There is a Satellite guys app? I was always the last to know even when I was a staff member but I am surprised to hear this.

I have the Android app on my phone, but I don't see it in the Play store anymore. I must have sourced it from there years ago.

In your Android phone, bring up Sat Guys site in a browser, click on settings in upper right corner then select Add to Home Screen. It will put an icon on your home screen. Also, it will be in your phone apps settings

This method also works on iOS/iPadOS using the Share button.

I'm still using the SatelliteGuys Reader app on my over 10 year old iPad Air model MD789LL/A with software 12.5.8. It's so old Apple doesn't send out any updates. The only thing I get when starting the app is a nag that it's a demo version and I should update to a paid version but I click OK and it works fine. I've learned if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
