Watching OTA channels with no satelite signal

I just had my roof re-done. The roofers put the dish in the "exact" same place, but obviously not quite as I lost all satellite signal.

I do, use an OTA for local channels. I however can't figure out how to get around the "searching for satellite signal.....5mins...." message to access the OTA channels.

How do I access my OTA channels in this scenario?

I'll try to hop up on the roof to see if I can't get a signal, but until then, I'd love to still watch my locals on OTA.

Disconnect the OTA antenna cable from your Dish receiver, and connect that cable directly to your TV's antenna input. Watching OTA through a Dish receiver without a satellite signal may only work for a very brief amount of time before it stops working entirely. The problem is that the guide information is still downloaded from the satellite signal. So, without a satellite signal, there will soon be no guide information. At that point, the guide will not let you select any channels (not even OTA channels) until it downloads a fresh guide again.
