I have a irregular problem with some of my HD channels where the transponder signal goes to 0. This doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes I get HDBravo, sometimes the signal isn't there. I also ocassionally lose non HD channels such as ch 360 and the HBO's at 502-508.

There are no line of sight obstructions, no weather related problems. Also when using my other non-HD TV's, these same channels come in clear when the HD TV can't get them. This leads me to believe my HD receiver might be misbehaving, but since its off warrenty, they aren't cheap to replace, I'd like some other troubleshooting ideas. I've also replaced the LNB for the satellite having this problem(101).

Ideas?

What model receiver do you have the Hughes E-86 has a known heat problem? Have you tried swapping locations of the receivers to check the cabling?

Could always sign up for the directv repair plan... then wait a couple months <G>
