Western Digital MyBook Daisy Chain?

I have a 622 VIP with a Western Digital 500 GB MyBook. I am down to 100 GB free, any one know if I can daisy chain another 500 GB MyBook?

nope, not yet. we're supposedly going to be able to do that at some point. i'm in the same boat as you...

This is USB interface, so no daisy chain allowed - you probably messed up with FireWire.
Just use other one instead and switch them when necessary.

I'm guessing you can use a USB hub as long as only 1 ext. HD is powered up at a time.

I can tell you a USB 2.0 hub works great. Four drives connected, but only one powered at any time.

Does it have to be a powered hub?
I have tried a non-powered hub, and it doesn't seem to work after awhile.

I use a powered hub for my two WD MyBook drives. But even befoe I added the second drive I was using the powered hub to prevent my drive from automatically turning on every time my DVR rebooted. The constant power on the hub prevents the drives from automatically turning on when the DVR reboots every night as these drives sense USB power turning on and off and will turn themselves on and off accordingly.

You have to call for activation.
