What happened to 95 W Ku?

There's nothing there anymore, except DirecTV and Hughesnet on the KU side.

This was one of the first birds I hit back when I was starting in the hobby. I remember CGTN and some Muzak being on there. I also miss listening to the voiceover argue with himself over which languages was on 89w when LDS was there.

Galaxy 3C is to be replaced by Galaxy 35, hopefully, we'll get some new Ku channels on it!

Both were just launched on December 13th, so need sometime to test near the 149w location before moving into position. I'd say at least around a couple of months from now before they go online.

Same here. 95 is my "south sat" for motor purposes. I could pickup CGTN and the in-store audio channels with just a small Dish Network dish.

Looks like we are eventually going get a new Ku satellite at 85w and at 91w:

Ever since my motor quit and with this weather being too brutal, I have stayed on 103 for a few weeks now and I didn't mind moving it around every time but all i ever see are the 4 channel color bar mux at 99 now and the usual 87 stuff. At least the 103 seems to be a little more lively. I have never seen anything on the 99 mux. I miss when we had grand junction.

Interesting. Intelsat told the FCC that they only intended to operate the C band payload of Galaxy 35, and the license they were granted reflects that intent.

That's unfortunate for those of us who have Ku band only! Strange too since they will be testing all the other bands (Ku & Ka) they have on the satellite while at 150.05w.
