Why would Spectrum cut ground wire?

The pedestal has a lock on it so I can't check that.

I've asked my builder for help on this. My place is new construction and the builder is very good about advocating for new home owners. My area is not that large so I am hopeful the builder's electrician will be able to extract some info from someone they know personally at Spectrum. I will be sure to post any info I get from the builder. Thanks all for the discussion, it makes me determined not to just let this slide by.

That's because they don't want former customers reconnecting themselves thinking they can get something for nothing.

The cover regularly falls off the pedestal across the road from me. It's located in some brush, and when the wind blows, off comes the cover. I've never seen a lock on it.

I'd just disconnect the coax in the box and remove the grounding cable. Those clips pull right out of the siding.

That connecting block is Definingly already grounded ....

That Coax IS grounded, provided it's terminated correctly.

If your all that concerned, call Spectrum back out and have them reconnect the ground wire ... or do it yourself.

Yes thats where they unscrewed it from. But go out of your way to cut the ground? and not unscrew from the home also?....Your standing there....lol

They are typically at the base if it has one and often times, they don't want to get down to the lock or put the cover on correctly, could be in a hurry or maybe theres other items keeping the cover from closing all the way.

The Coax is feeding his signal, if he still has service, if not, I don't understand what the issue is, if he's not using the service, take it down if he wants .. and remove the ground.
If service isn't in use, why worry about it.

I'm thinking it was probably already cut ... just my thinking and they wouldn't know it unless a service call as generated.
