Yankees Sign Manny

They may as well...they've signed everyone else! :) One minor transaction is that they signed the Red Sox backup catcher, Kevin Cash.

Good Grief, I almost fell out of my chair. Good one Scobuck. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to all.

Has Manny burned any bridges with the Dodgers? Have the local newspapers in any of the large markets singled him out as the big fish their team will likely pursue?

Baseball isn't a team sport, so baseball teams don't need chemestry. The 1977/1978 Yankees certainly didn't have any, and neither did any of the, "25 guys, 25 cabs" Red Sox teams.

That would be a disaster.

Manny and Sheff would destroy what little chemistry that team has left.

Chemistry wasn't the problem. Lack of healthy pitching had a lot more to do with their disappointing season. Oakland A's of the early 70's fought with each other everyday, and still managed to win 3 titles. AntAlt Mike hit it on the head about the Yankee's too.

That's a damn good question, Mike. Even out here in L.A. there has been a noticeable change in the air re: Minnie Me. So, something is going on behind the scenes for sure that has changed their feelings. (That is unless they were all just lying low until this Tex mess was over!)

Exactly!! When teams win...chemistry is NOT an issue. The moment the team starts losing...SOMEONE is always either a "poison in the clubhouse" or a "bad influence on the team". Which is all bull****.....the Oakland A's of the early 70s and the Yankees of the late to early 80s did not like each other too much.

WINNING cures all ills.:D

Didn't every Yankee hate Reggie Jackson till they started winning?
