Just got a Fortec 180CM FS6D 6ft C Ku Prime Focus Satellite Dish and wanted to know if I can use a regular Scalar Ring to mount my BSC621 C/KU LNB?

Or do I need to order the Collar II ?

Any info will be appreciated.

You should not need the Collar II for mounting a BSC-621, B1satStacked, CK-1, DMX741, nor even a Chaparral corotor family.

The Collar II is for mounting small-neck LNBs like Ku-band LNBs onto a BUD.

Thank for the info on the C-II.

I have regular scaler rings on both of my 6 foot dishes. One has a bandstacked LNB on it and the other has a 621-2...the 621 fit real snug into the scaler ring but works great :)

sup Ice. As u saw on my last post, I got the same dish as you now.. yeyyy :D

any chance to see a picture of your scalar ring and LNB u use on both your dishes?

TIA

lemme see...since one is ghetto moved in front of the garage here are some pics
yes the dish gets moved out from in the garage and aimed. This is due to bad line of sight for the fixed dish on the other side of the house

In both setups the scaler rings are just stock units that came with some old LNB's...got them off Ebay a while back...a bunch of LNB's and scaler rings.

Nice part with these is they are heavy duty and they have a good screw to tighten and keep the LNB in...bad part is its a hex key...no biggie if you're motorized or have a fixed dish. But if you ghetto move the dish like I do...well then I had to take a trip to the home improvement store to get a hex key....or is it an allen wrench....I forget

Highly appreciated Iceberg.. great pictures too. I will post some as soon as It arrives and gets built ...

I do have some old school scalar rings too laying around, time to look for them while they ship the dish.

TU again

I like the way Iceberg plays with a C-band dish, TV and truck. I think he can go to any football game and have a nice tailgate party with his C-band dish without any problems. :D

Damn Ice, what did you do to that dish? I'm sure it wasn't it's fault! :D

That is an old pic. The dish use to be on the deck (other side of house0 and fell off the table it was on 3 times. The table was needed to clear the roof line for line of site

Its been replaced with 2 panels that Sadoun had...but they were dark grey. So now I have a ghetto C-Band dish :)

Thanks ICE, I'm in same boat now, just ordered my 1.8M Prime focus, now I'm in the c-band world

I give up on the 10ft I bought for 50 bucks, 2 big on my back yard, and my back yard is adjancent to a senior retirment building, don't want any trouble with them (City by law - limit is 2.7 Meter at most)

yea I can see the damage on the sides after it fell 3 times.. hehe

BTW: My cband dish shipped friday scheduled for delivery the 23rd

I'm not sure I'd put up with a screw or set screw that needed an Allen wrench, even motorized.
Too damned non-standard, and too much trouble to fiddle with.
May I suggest on your next trip to the hardware store ya consider a new screw?
I have Lowe's and OSH here who both carry a wide selection, including metric.

If I were going to motorize, then I'd just put in a more standard screw and be done with it, but you have a chance here to put a handle on it.
How 'bout epoxying on a knob of your choice?
Perhaps a longer screw with three or four nuts jammed together at the head, to make a handle?

Let's see a picture, if anyone comes up with something.
I put in Philips screws, with hex heads you can optionally turn with a nutdriver.

nah. I have an allen wrench set so it doesn't take much work and they are better (IMO) then the screw (stripped too many heads on the screws)
