Agree to disagree then I guess, there's no convincing many Raider fans, the Kool-Aid is too strong. You just keep refocusing on the flaws with rating people in the draft when the player they selected didn't do anything to impress on the field, just had good workouts and that's why he was drafted where he was. I'd agree with you if we were talking about 5th and 6th round picks here, but instead we're talking about 5th or 6th+ round talent being picked 47th overall in a draft of 256.

Crabtree came across as a thug in his interviews with Deion on NFLN, his attitude is why he slid IMO, past the Browns and Raiders, cost him millions.

I was paying more attention to their comments after watching the Top 10 Draft Busts show on NFLN on Friday... #1 was Ryan Leaf and one thing that helped the Colts make their decision and also made analysts weary was their answers to what happens if/when they get drafted/signed. Manning said some predictable get to work response, Leaf said he was going to Vegas.

One statement, your mocking the Raiders for their drafts...and yet you give a perfectly good reason WHY other passed him by....but not the Raiders...

I haven't knocked the Raiders for not selecting Crabtree... there are arguments against picking that WR in the 1st but they aren't valid unless they had a trade partner to get out of the spot. It's Michael Mitchell that's the big WTF and I am not sure the Bears article that's come out since really exonerates them, we'd be saying the same about the Bears if they'd gotten him. If Crabtree would have been asked about playing for the Chiefs and responded the way he did I'd have called him a douche and hoped he fell to the 2nd round myself.

Supposedly the Bears told Mitchell they would pick him at 49, and were quoted later saying 'our players weren't there so we traded down' so that's being used as confirmation of that.

Let's just agree that there are points of the Raider draft that are questionable, and that I look forward to seeing them prove it on the field (against non-Chiefs opponents!). I think that's the closest we'll get to agreeing

Plus, we got QB Brett Ratliff from the Jets in part of the trade on Saturday. There's only room for 3 on the team. It will sure be an interesting Training Camp.

PFT Gives Browns & Eagles Highest Marks in Draft!

Cleveland Browns — No team may have orchestrated trades and acquired more overall value better than the Browns, who traded back three times in the first round before landing their prize, Alex Mack, in front of a team (Vikings) that was considering selecting the draft’s first center.

Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi both have starter potential at receiver and could allow for a Braylon Edwards trade. David Veikune is a projected outside linebacker who has a great motor and fits the scheme. Kaluka Maiava could fill a nickel linebacker role. CBs Don Carey and Coye Francies could make the roster. DE Kenyon Coleman and DB Abram Elam, acquired from the Jets for the fifth pick, along with QB Brett Ratliff, could both be starters.

Overall, the Browns may come away with six starters from this draft, while also adding character to the locker room and potentially replacing a fifth of the 53-man roster through the draft. GM George Kokinis and head coach Eric Mangini have received a fair share of criticism in their short tenure together, but they may have had the best draft of any AFC team.

Grade: Outstanding

I'll be curious to see where the other "system" QB's from the next draft go. (Tebow, McCoy and Bradford) None of these guys play in a "NFL" style system (Taking snaps from under center). I believe it's why the Lion's went with Stafford this year, even though they most certainly be in position to draft one of them next season.

Because he was undrafted. No one else seemed to want the poor kid from Lubbock. I bet he was willing to sign with the first team to offer him a contract.

The idea of grading the draft is daft. Maybe after 3 seasons, when you actually have something to grade. Otherwise is just a guess for the most part.

I would like to hear a NFL scout's take on this. I thought he would at least been drafted late by somebody taking a "flyer". It's not like the kid can't throw.
