2011 AL Central Thread

Jimbo, didn't you catch Rod Allen's call in the opener? "Granderson reached out and hit this over the right field fence in left field." No kidding, I replayed it 3 times to make sure I heard it correctly. Allen is worth the price of admission all by himself.

How does this fool still have a job?

Sorry guy, I was working.

2 two run shots for Miguel Cabrera so far today !!!
Only in the 3rd inning !

Cabrera is becoming one of those guys you STOP what your doing and watch when he comes to the plate !

And now Pasoda also has 2, 2run HR's today .....

Playing in NY is a JOKE.

Can't wait to see a pitcher hit it out, oh that hasn't happened yet, only because they don't hit.

There has been 7 HR's in 5 innings, so far.

Tigers aren't any better than last year. I would love to see 94 wins because I think it will win the central, and them anything goes in the playoffs. Unfortunately this team is the same as it was last year. Hit g might be better but suspect starting pitching and quite possibly the worst al defense.

83 to 87 wins is my prediction.

I think I said 86-92 earlier.

The team needs a CATCHER for starters.
A SS would be nice, but those were the same issues going into the season and at the end of last year.
Peralta might come around and hit some, I hope. Gotta be better than the guys we had the past few years at SS.

The pitching will come around, cold weather causes alot of issues early.

Verlander pitched VERY well against NY, if he continues, he will have a VERY good year.

Verlander on te mound today, hopefully ill be off work by game time, been a lot of OT of late.

I would PULL Penny RIGHT NOW, Avilla wanted the pitch well outside and he threw it right down the middle and it got belted for a 2 run HR, tying the game.

Thats that Home Cookin !!!

They should decide to take the Chef with them on the road !!!
They do take the Chef with them on the road but he always manages to get liquored up, bang 7-gram rocks, have sex with prostitutes all night and is then inserted into the starting lineup the following day. That's how our Chef rolls while on the road. NOT Winning!!! :D

Twins had a nice late inning comeback for the win, coupled with a strong start from Pavano and a solid save by Nathan. A little more offense would be nice. I think they are still finding their chemistry after not playing Mauer or Morneau much in the spring.

For those that are having baseball withdrawls...
