Is there an FTA tuner that has a network port on it, which can be completely controlled over the network? I am looking for something similar to the HD Homerun tuner that I user for terrestrial broadcasts, where you send some commands to it, and it returns a video stream that you can watch remotely, or save to disk. I don't want to use a tuner connected to my computer using USB because I need the flexibility of putting my computer anywhere in the house without running a coax cable to it.

I have the HD Homerun configured so that I can go to the Titan TV website and select 'record' on any program, and it gets saved to disk at the scheduled time. I would like to do the same with a few satellite channels, especially for the History channel so I can skip the #!%$# Lipozene commercials while watching Pawn Stars.

I could be wrong, let me know, but I don't think there is a set top box that will do all of that.

No such animal as far as I know, but that would be a great piece of FTA gear, wouldn't it? Then WD could add an app for it and the Silicon Dust for the WDTV Live!

Will the Elgato EyeTV stream live HD over a LAN? The site seems to be somewhat ambiguous about its streaming capabilities...

If it can, and can do so without break-ups, it is one gadget that is definitely on my FTA christmas wish list ;) ...

I bought one earlier this year to play with. It is essentially the satellite equivalent to the Silicon Dust terrestrial unit.

No problem with SD or HD steaming on my wired LAN. Didn't test specifically high bandwidth channels, but it worked on all channels that I tuned. Played with TS Reader for a few minutes and the EyeTV was detected on the network. Was going to test for 4:2:2 and other signals for playout, but got busy on other projects.

Recently moved and the unit is boxed in storage. Should get it out this winter and play with it again.

I really have to look into one of these instead of (or in addition to) a tuner card for my PCs...

This would be an extremely cool device if it was designed to use in the North American FTA market. But sadly it appears very limited in how many sats you can use at one time.
