Best record in the AL even after the slump we will be okay.

I know ...

I could have swore someone said that the Dodgers had the best record in baseball recently ...

A quick look at the Standings shows Atlanta with the best record as of now, by 3 games.
Then Detroit.

Atlanta 76-48 .613
Detroit 73-51 .589
Pittsburgh 72-51 .585
LA 72-51 .585
Boston 73-52 .584
Texas 71-53 .573

 All the effort I used to type this neatly and the format screwed up anyways ... :(

Why do you always insist on stating things that simply aren't true? Nobody made such a claim. Why would someone state something different than what the standings clearly show?

I wasn't talking about you because I wasn't sure you were the one.

Miguel Cabrera's BA on the first pitch is .487 (he gets a hit almost half of the time when swinging at the first pitch). His slugging % is 1.500

Did you also know that highest BA count in all of baseball is also on the first pitch? So much for telling batters to be patient and take the first pitch. If it is in that batter's zone, the best thing he can do is swing at it.

You rotten, Tiger-loving...

I so wish the Twins were relevant again so I could participate fully in the fun of this thread.

Baseball is a crazy game. It wasn't that long ago that the Tigers were bottom dwellers and the Twins were the team to beat. Dramatic changes can happen pretty quickly in the MLB. Who knows? Maybe in a couple years the Twins will rule the division again and the Tigers will fall apart. I sure hope not.

Great choice, I am more of a Lafayette man myself :)

My brother insisted we do Lafayette... :) We've been at the ball park for the past 45-minutes. Anyway, we may meet up with a nephew and some cousins. If you're in the the ball park stop by and say hello.

Riff...
