If you have no clue what excel or ExpressHD/ SuperHD is it's my FTA Free To Air service for satellite TV. It's basically if you took dish but made it fta and only pay for the install. Also the current song playing is gap band outstanding.

Never heard of it.

No. I post music and other videos on satellite stuff FYI not all of it is talking about fta
You're definitely a candidate for checking out the FTA satellites. Ditch the Dish/DirecTV stuff, get a little larger dish (probably can find for free somewhere), buy a new low-cost FTA receiver (they're everywhere now if you look in the right places) and get high on FTA.

Added: You may have something in common with Robbie Strike. Also, if you ask nice...maybe somebody on here would "loan" you a piece of equipment they no longer need.

I happen to have an actual ka or ku band big fta dish in my shed I got a couple months ago. I'll definitely try to see if it works! I'm not sure why there's no skew on the actual reflector

Not familiar with it. But maybe you just skew the LNB. This site will tell you how much to skew the LNB to receive FTA satellites. This site will tell you where the FTA satellites are.

This is probably a question that is repetitive but I saw on the website echostar 61.5 west was in green so is that not encrypted? Or is only the satellites that I'm aware of so far like 97, 101, 99. 103, 116.8 unencrypted

In general, 61.5W Echostar 16 is encrypted. There may be a channel or two that occasionally isn't encrypted. There are transponders on Ku satellites from 129W right through 30W Hispasat and further east that are unencrypted. Lots to search for.

I did find some free ppv previewsvand scapes on satellite 119 even though it's not an fta satellite. I was able to see a feature presentation of a corny horror movie too!

Wondering what channels I can get with some old equipment.
