I had the same error (in my case it was about 2 months after an install) on my HR-34. It started out like yours, but eventually got worse so that it would never get signal. It turned out to the be the LNB, The tech came out and replaced it, and I've been problem free since.

I would agree about getting a C31 or H25 that would be dedicated to the Slingbox. I have done that, and it's fantastic because it doesn't interfere with anyone viewing the HR34, and I can still access anything from the HR34, or live as well.

One thing to note that's different than dish. One time events, like movies or sports, don't count towards the limit, just series, or recurring events.
