How to get HD for Life Free via your account setup

I had to figure this out for myself, so I wanted to share for others. The dish CSR's are worthless. On June 3rd, I went into my account details. I was Turbo HD Bronze, and I switched to America Top 120. I then signed up for paperless and auto-pay. But I was defaulted to the NONE OF THE...

    My Chat (discussion)

Tired of all the crap, and expense, and them removing the Cinimax for 1 cent, I have gone back to paper billing, and Turbo HD Bronze. My bill reduced by over $39 a month (now only $47 a month). What I lose is the following: Nickelodian Fox News NFL Redzone That's all our family watched...

More info on NFL RedZone on Dish

Sunday Ticket is TOTALLY worth it when you live in say Florida and your favorite team is Seattle. You get to watch your favorite team play entire games, every Sunday. But, if you are local to your favorite team... Like you get the game on local CBS or FOX, then I found Sunday Ticket not so...

Questions about signal strength, transponders, etc....

I believe I have a Dish 500 (access to 110 and 119). When I go to option 6-1-1 and check the signal strength, it looks like it is on 119 transponder 11 and I get 65 signal strength. How do I check 110, what transponder does it use? I assume that the reason I have channels listed twice (some...

    722k phone and LAN hookup

I currently have my 722k hooked up via phone. But I see a LAN input on the back. What is that used for??? Can I hook it up to the LAN and remove the phone cable? Is there anything I have to do to tell it that I'm hooked to the LAN, or does it just figure it out on it's own? Are there any...

Ok, I'm sick of not getting my locals in HD, how do I "move"?

70 miles to the north of me, the DMA there has locals in HD. 70 miles to the east of me the DMA there has locals in HD. Me, my DMA apparently hasn't struck a deal with Dish Network yet. But I don't really care if I have my locals, or the ones to the north or east of me. Can anyone tell me...

Dish Network is REALLY getting rid of Turbo HD!

A Dish Network van pulled up in front of my house and a guy went around to the back of my house and spray painted over the word TURBO on my dish. In now reads "Dish HD". They are really serious on getting rid of TURBO HD.

    Dish HD

It is not your HDTV, it is the show that is on the channel at the time. I noticed this when I was on Charter Cable, when I got my new Samsung HDTV. Everything was wonderful, unless I turned to TNT and an old episode of Law and Order was playing. Everytime the show panned left or right, it...

I was just told by a CSR that Nick HD is now available to Turbo HD Bronze.

Can somone confirm this as true or false...she said channel 5340 was available to Turbo HD Bronze, which would then indicate it is available to all Turbo HD packages (silver and gold as well). I can not confirm this as I'm at work. I find it hard to believe though.

Why can't DISH just KISS, you get what you pay for!

    Hot receiver !!

Thus the main benefit of leasing the equipment! If you are new Dish customer, like you just signed up for a two year committment, then you also have the 6 month free equipment protection plan...they charge 5.99 per month after the 6 months are up, but it is still worth it as it covers all Dish...

    All American Direct HD Prices

Supply and demand guys! Look they offer a service for a price. If you don't want to pay the price, then you won't ask for their service. It's that simple. Obviously there are people paying those prices, or they'd be lower.

Here's my solution to the Turbo HD problem...

Obviously the Turbo HD packages are not going how Dish figured they would. New HD content coming on board is not getting to the Turbo packages etc... Dish should simply offer this... Current Turbo HD subscribers can choose the following: 1) Keep what they have until their contract runs...

    Question about temporarily disconnecting equipment...

We are remodeling our family room and I need to clear out all the electronic equipment. Thus, I'm going to be unplugging and disconnecting the Dish 722k DVR for about a week or so. Are they going to put some kind of block on my device since it woun't be connected via phone or lan for the...

    722k fan quesions

When I turn off my 722k and if I am standing next to it, I can hear a fan or something running but at a low speed/and little noise. Is this normal? It is not running at high speed, which I have only heard from my 722k when I reset it and it "boots" up for a few seconds. It's just a low...

Why can't you have locals that have HD, when your's don't?

Does anyone know why it is that local channels are based solely on your zip code? My locals, OTA are in HD, but with Dish they are not offered in HD as of yet. To avoid having to string yet another antenna on my house, I am paying Dish $5 a month for locals. I recently called them and asked...

Turbo HD poll...What to do now

For one, I am 90% happy with what I got. Turbo HD Bronze with locals and DVR for 39.99 a month plus an additional 222k for another $7, or 46.99 a month. Channel wise, I got everything I need except, I'd like Nick HD and Fox News HD....and I'd like MSNBC News HD when they add that later in...

Dish Network to add MSNBC HD in June

Probably will go to the Platinum HD package. At least that is what I figured out by simply rolling dice, which is what I think the Programming Director at Dish Network does.

I can understand why a cheapskate like me (TurboHDBronze) doesn't get the new HD ch.

But what I don't get, is why they at least are not available for purchase. For instance, I am paying 29.99 a month for TurboHD Bronze. I'd be willing to fork over another $5 a month if that would get me all the HD programming that is available to Classic Bronze plus HD. I was actually...
