2010-11 NCAA College Hockey

Michigan completed their weekend sweep of Western Michigan with a hard-fought 5-4 OT win. They are currently 1-point behind Notre Dame in the CCHA standings. ND has a weekend series matchup against Western Michigan while Michigan finishes their CCHA schedule with a weekend series at Northern Michigan. Go Michigan!

Also, Norwich beat Tufts 6-3 and again win the ECAC East. Norwich plays against University of New England next Saturday in the ECAC East Tournament. Go Cadets!

I don't know...maybe it's me, but this is the third week in a row I'm very disappointed with the games on TV. Part of the problem is that some of the better teams (Yale, Union, Merrimack, Nebraska Omaha, RPI, Minnesota Duluth, Boston College, Denver) just aren't on TV very often, and the other part is that some teams that are on a lot (Maine, Vermont, Minnesota, Michigan State) just aren't very good.

Minnesota has been playing better of late, I would have watched them this week but I'm just not interested in seeing them play Michigan Tech.

The good news is, the playoffs are on the horizon.

UGH!

a month ago UMD was ranked #2 in power rankings....and now they're tied for 12th. Thats what happens when you dont beat the teams you're suppose to

Michigan closed out the season with a six game winning streak. I feel good about their chance of winning the CCHA Tournament starting on Friday night. Also, in Division III action Norwich finished their regular season with five consecutive wins and won their ECAC East Quarterfinal match against New England, 10-2.

I love college hockey!!! :)

Televised games this weekend...either nationwide or statewide. A light week as Hockey East and WCHA have last week of regular season. Some of the other conferences have 1st round of playoffs.

All the WCHA games televised have playoff seeding implications for next week's playoffs (nobody gets a bye)

Oh, Michigan wins another CCHA regular season title and will kickoff CCHA Tournament play next week. :) Also, Norwich shutout Southern Maine, 4-0, in the ECAC East Semifinal earlier today. On a side note, the Norwich women's Ice Hockey team won the ECAC Women's East with a 17-0-1 conference record and are a favorite to return to the NCAA Tournament finals. I actually got to see both the Norwich men and woman play back in January - they both look good.

College Hockey is the best!!!
