Well, we are less than two weeks away from the start of the 2011 Masters Tournament so I thought I would start this thread.

Tournament Television Schedule:

ESPN - Thursday April 7, 2011 Live coverage from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm, EST (Replay 8pm - 11pm)
ESPN - Friday April 8, 2011 Live coverage from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm, EST (Replay 8pm - 11pm)
CBS - Thursday April 7, 2011 CBS Highlight Show from 11:35 - 11:50 pm, EST
CBS - Friday April 8, 2011 CBS Highlight Show from 11:35 - 11:50 pm, EST
CBS - Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 3:30 - 7:00 pm, EST
CBS - Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 2:00 - 7:00 pm, EST. Includes all 18-holes of the final-round.

Of course, I'm sure ESPN/Golf Channels will be broadcasting much of the preliminary action in the days prior to the tournament.

Offhand, both Woods and Mickelson are looking like longshots this year.

I love The Masters. The greatest golf tournament in the world. Heaven looks a lot like the Augusta National Golf Club.

I really could care less what color the cover is on someone's passport. I love the new young talent that is not afraid of Woods.

Yeah, I too like all the good young talent we're seeing the past couple of years. Back at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, here is the leaderboard going into the final round:

1 Martin Laird -11 70 65 70 205
2 Spencer Levin -9 66 70 71 207
T3 Bubba Watson -7 70 71 68 209
T3 Steve Marino -7 71 67 71 209
T5 David Toms -6 74 67 69 210
T5 Rickie Fowler -6 69 71 70 210
T7 Marc Leishman -5 73 72 66 211
T7 Trevor Immelman -5 72 71 68 211
T7 John Senden -5 71 72 68 211
T7 Charles Howell III -5 73 65 73 211

Personally, I am pulling for Bubba Watson to come out on top. Other notables:

T20 Phil Mickelson -2 70 75 69 214
T29 Tiger Woods -1 73 68 74 215

Favorites to win the 2011 Masters

Here are this year's betting odds. While I generally agree with this list, I just don't understand why Woods is being placed at #1 given his performance the past year or so. We shall see...

Tiger Woods 11/2 6 5 5 6 6
Phil Mickelson 7 7 6 6 7 7
Lee Westwood 14 12 12 12 14 12
Martin Kaymer 14 16 12 14 12 14
Rory Mcilroy 22 22 18 22 20 22
Graeme Mcdowell 28 25 28 28 20 28
Paul Casey 28 28 22 25 25 28
Luke Donald 28 28 28 30 25 28
Nick Watney 28 25 28 28 33 33
Dustin Johnson 28 28 25 28 25 33

Shop the Masters - 2011 Masters Tournament

I just downloaded the app from the Android Market (free) and look forward to keeping up-to-date with the latest while I'm not watching the action on the big screen.

On a side note, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters hit the shelves the other day. Me and my mom still play Tiger Woods 10 over the Internet from time-to-time, but it looks like we'll have to upgrade soon.

A Masterful moving day

"Defending Masters champion Phil Mickelson shot his lowest round in two years Saturday, tying the course record with a 63 at the Shell Houston Open. He's tied for the lead with Scott Verplank, who carded his second straight 65."

Full Story

Shell Houston Open Leaderboard:
T1 Phil Mickelson -13 F -9
T1 Scott Verplank -13 F -7
T3 Aaron Baddeley -12 F -6
T3 Chris Kirk -12 F -3
T5 David Hearn -11 F -6

Looks like Phil is getting reading to defend his Masters title. :)

People were having trouble finding a favorite going into the Masters, but after Phil fired a 65 today and won the Shell Houson Open (39th tour victory) I would have to say Mickelson has a pretty good shot of repeating at Augusta. We shall see...

He hit a 280-yard three wood dead-center on the green of the par-5 (15th?) that, to me, showed he has stepped-up his game and was ready for this week. We shall see. I always get excited come Masters time! :)

Tiger Woods paired with Graeme McDowell

Source

On the first two days of the Masters, Tiger Woods will be playing in a group that includes Graeme McDowell, the U.S. Open champion who beat him in a playoff after Woods gacked a four-stroke lead in his own tournament, the Chevron World Challenge, last December.
