322 receiver with no Pots line

I just noticed a nagging screen telling us to test phone connection:

i was under the impression that the phone line is only needed when ordering PPVs but now i can't seem to get rid of this message. Does one really need a POTs line for Dish??

my setup is a 322 for 2 tvs..

Yep all the dual tuner recievers need to be connected to a phone line or the message that you have will appear. The only way to get by this is to plug it in and let it test the phone connection or to call dish network and have them send a bypass at which point you will now pay the extra $5 per month for not having it connected.
