Never once lost my signal during Ivan.........60mph wind gust pouring rain.
Never even flickered.
Bet Voom can't say that

Come on that's not right , I had them install a 30" dish because of rain fade, wait your right , I forgot that didn't help either, with just a good rain I still lost my Voom LOL, I don't have them anymore . Now I did last night loose my D signal for about 20 minutes this is the 1st time I have ever lost it for this long in the 8 years I had them and it was raining so hard and heavy from Ivan I could not see my hand in front of my face but it did come back on.

That was the proverbial straw with Voom. When the first hurricane blew through, I lost signal on Voom for hours. I had never experienced this with DirecTV. That, along with the change in pricing and their inadequate attempt at OTA convinced me to dust off my DirecTivo.

I agree folks...signal drops are EXTREMELY rare...lost DirecTV for about 15 secs a little while ago but came back no prob....Ivan is outside dumping tons of rain...for all practical purposes, rain fade is NO issue.
