Well, I've been reading and reading...and reading... about FTA for about 7 years now...but have never pulled the trigger. I'm not quite up-to-date on whats new and *Hot* in the FTA world...but I just had a general question...

What's up there that interests you the most? I am simply trying to get rid of my Basic cable service. I am in the middle of trying to pull in some OTA Locals...but having a few issues (Maybe I can get a lil' advice on that as well). I'm a laid-off cable-guy, so I have all the tools I need to make this FTA system work. Are there any regional Network affiliates available up there? Im really only interested in the Networks, not so much Cable channels, as I also have Dave. (No locals available in my City) Im trying to just save a bit of money, get my Network shows. I have a home theater pc, with all the links to online shows (Hulu, Zinc TV)...but its not wife approved. lol. Anyone bored, and cares to help out, I'd appreciate.

hard to nail that down

Theres so much up there that interests me, hard to nail it down to just something to stick a font on. Put it this way, alot of good tv is up there...Mainly it's fun to learn and do things with FTA. It exercises both the mind and body and the reward is you do it yourself...You can meet some really good friends in the hobby which is an added benefit. FTA is much more than just tv!

Are you planning to go with KU or C-Band? With the exception of RTV, PBS, and the NBC SATOPS feeds there's not much network stuff on small dish, but there are a few on C-Band. Check out Lyngsat or The List to get an idea of what's up there. If FreeDBS ever gets off the ground there may be lots on KU, but not right now.
