Dead Openbox ?

Openbox S9 . Well , it looks like I may have messed up . I tried to update to the Aug 15 firmware , which it took . However , it did reboot , only to show the "nochannels" message . It would seem that I have lost all of my sat info , which with a lot of time I can redo . However , this is the only message that appears now . I can not get the remote to change anything except power off/on. No menu to set up etc. Nothing . hopefully some one can give me a hint as to where to start . Thanks for any help in advance .

Then try the RS232 recovery, essentially using THAT technique to try to load some good firmware..

Wow ! That was quick . I thought all was lost . Any idea on what the latest firmware is ? I am not anxious to repeat a mistake. I am going to do this in the morning . Better to go to sleep with hope , than despair . Thanks much .

I wouldn't necessarily use the latest firmware. You should be back in business even using some of the older firmware, Openbox 9/27/2010 firmware - Downloads - SatelliteGuys.US is from 9/27/2010 and I go back to it frequently. I has a few minor problems, but it's snappy with a quick blindscan.

Appreciated much . All went well. I am puzzled as to what happened . I did an update some time ago via usb with no problem . What a relief . [ unlike my first reply which went " POOF " ] Thanks again.
