digicipher battery missing

What will happen if the battery on a digicipher board is missing.Im getting one but there is no battery on it.

The digital id will be lost.

Lost seed keys and ID. I don't know if the decoder will even function in ZK without a battery in the circuit.

I believe that it will still be able to view analog signals, and move a dish and control polarity. You certainly won't be able to watch any 4DTV/DCII channels. In order to get a new ID you have to send it somewhere and have them put in a new battery and re-program the ID. Most people consider 4DTV receivers with a bad battery to be boat anchors.
