Drastic volume level shifts

Watching HD football on ST today I noticed some pretty big differences in volume levels. I felt like I was adjusting the level all day! Some games much softer than others, and even consecutive commercials on the same game feed at very different audio levels. Is this something with my equipment (H20) or is this a D* issue? It was a major pain...

I was watching football on NBC last night and lost sound at least 13 times. Anyone else having this Problem? It always happens on NBC but never this often
