We haven't completely outlined all of the various package costs of the FyreTV service but the standard monthly subscription will be $9.99 a month which gives you access to all of the FyreTV equipment and 60 minutes worth of content viewing time.

Please refer to the following link for a more detailed desciption of the pricing structure. FyreTV FAQ :: How much does it cost?

So if you wanted to watch ONE 90min film you are basically going to pay more than $10 for the viewing? OUCH!

yeah thats awful expensive to watch one porn movie, i used to have xtv and they charged 30.00 a month for unlimited porn, but it was the same movies over and over, i think they priced thereselves out of business, still have the xtv box in the closet collecting dust.

IMHO the XTV PQ was not even close to FyreTV.

Fyre has better PQ BUT the comment is about the planned fees. $13 or so just to watch one 90 min film one night with the wife; 2 movies could be close to the same $30/mo XTV was. I can sacrifice a bit of PQ for a MUCH better pricing scheme. I can rent more XXX DVDs for that.

I was thinkg more like 2 minutes a night, for 30 days... works out great! No one "watches" a full film. LOL... Just kidding...

Maybe fyre will also have an "unlimited" plan as well.

I would think the $10/mo should at least cover one full length flick, but that's my opinion... I'm sure fyre will adjust depending on how business goes when they start up.

My cinemanow (alladultchannel.com) annual subscription ends in a couple of days. It cost $99/year with unlmited viewing and thousands of movies. It works great with a media center extender connected to an hd TV such as xbox 360. I think I will wait and see how good fyretv is going to be before I renew with cinemanow.

Before commenting on the price I'd like to see the final product and pricing IIRC it was mentioned there would be other options besides the 90 minute package.

You would not believe the difference in picture quality between S-Video and Component, Can clearly see a BIG difference.

Setup was easy, of course I had to try each output and check quality.

The box seemed to freeze at first, but was possibly due to my network not assigning an IP until I popped in the MAC address into my DHCP server, and allowed it on the network.

I think I've seen it mentioned, but "Live TV" doesn't seem to function.

Oer Component and HDMI, the picture quality was impressive, I've never used an IPTV product, so didn't expect it to be as good as it was.

Coming in through SVideo looked very blocky.

More reports to follow:

To the FyreTV team: Is there any certain things you wish us to try, or any certain types of reports you are looking for?

Just an FYI to folks that the official FyreTV forums are up and running. Seems like a lot of duplication between questions/reviews/support going on between the IPTV forum here and the forums @ FyreTV.
I understand the attachment to the forums here, but I imagine over time the information @ FyreTV will far exceed what you will receive here.

I have been around the forums over at fyreTV. Maybe they should set up their forums like SatGuys. I am having trouble navigating them over there and seeing what is going on..

Needless to say, I have my box and am putting it through the paces. So far I am very impressed with the picture quality over my HDMI to my plasma set. Getting used to the menu navigation on the fyre box is going slowly. I know that some things are just not working yet. And the content is lacking at this early stage. But it is BETA, so I feel like that will improve..

I wish they had some 16:9 content to check out. I had to set my box in the 4:3 mode to get a full size picture.. The 16:9 selection seems to wreak havok with my TV. I can only get black bars/squeezed picture or Bigger Black Bars/really squeezed picture. So I think there is an issue with the 16:9 selection. Won't know until they actually have video that plays 16:9

Some of the films look pretty darn good when I do a partial zoom or stretch on my wide screen, others, they look streached, but there are a few that looked good. Unfortuneately, I don't recall which ones off hand.

I can't get into the fyre tv forums. My url to activate is "invalid". I email a mod and no reply. All I can see is "private" on most forums, so I can't comment on issues I've encountered. No reply to my PM to the mods.

Currently the biggest issue is with the limited line-sight of the remote to the box. It is very sensitive. Also, the back button should be labeled "back" instead of "menu".

Copy and paste the address to activate in a new browser window.

the address is missing an "s". It should start with "forums.fyretv.com"

That worked for me.

Got mine set up last night. Plugged it in and it was awesome. I was wondering about the 16:9 thing and noticed that it was better in 4:3. Hopefully this will be changed in a software update. Also only 480P. I know this id DVD quality but it would be nice to be able to go to 720 or 1080
