Not what we were being sold here over, and over and over... something to the tune of 'everyone who wants Sunday Ticket already has it' while replying to people who didn't have ST and have it now only because it's not on DirecTV.
VS all of thise that Don't have it now, Because its not on D*.

About a 25% price increase is ridiculous ...
Remember all those that said it would be Cheaper now because of being available more places ????
Hardly ... :oldfrown

Do you Have numbers for them ?

Comparing it to D*'s LAST year, doesn't prove anything, everyone knew it was leaving and subs were down ...
Actually last year, they had a lot more subscribers that had access to ST because they gave it away to pretty much anyone who asked.
if they want to look they should look when it was in its hey day (or the middle of the duration) ...
It was reported that ST on DirecTV never had more then 2 Million subscribers in it's history on DirecTV.

The main reason is, the most who subscribed to DirecTV was 22 million, that was right when AT&T bought them.

Since it has been reported that 120 Million Households have broadband, that is still 98 Million more then DirecTV had at it's peak.
Seeing EVERYONE in the country has the internet and are able to get ST, whatever numbers they have should be More than D* ever had.
And that is what is being reported, but I would prefer to see numbers.

They have been giving it away to subs for MANY years ..... Not All subs, but they have for years.

So, if theres 98 MILLION people that CAN get YT for ST, according to those that say that those that want it should have it now, then they should have 98 Million subs to ST now ... right ??? :eeek

no.

But it looks like almost 10% of DirecTV customers subscribed to ST.

So 10% of 120 Million is 12 Million.

Do I think that many subscribe, no, my guess for the first year is 4-6 million.

But the other thing they are trying to do with ST, is get more subscribers to YTTV, since that is the only Live TV service gaining subscribers reported every quarter, it must be working.

At the rate of losses for Dish Network vs the gains of YTTV, it should overtake Dish by the middle of 2024, it should overtake DirecTV Satellite by the middle of 2025.

I usually got it for $180 or less ...
I can only compare to the advertised price, not a deal from a CSR, my price was about 25% less then what DirecTV charged last year.

If you add up 12 months of YTTV plus Sunday Ticket, the total for the year is $1125 total, divide by 12 = $93.75 a month, which is still less by $10 then the Entertainment Package from DirecTV without ST.

You are really obsessed with if/when one company Overtakes another ....

Unsure why that is, but .. oh well.

I could care less if so and so has more people than another.

As long as I have the ability to get the item is whats important to me ... If I don't get it, at least I have the ability to if I want to.

HOwever, the WHOLE POINT of YT getting the service is that people can get it WITHOUT having to Sub to a Full Time service.

Then why pay 2 billion dollars?... Is the NFL a charity and this is all a right off
NFL gets the money no matter what, it is up to google then to make a profit.

Google prints money ...
Thats like $10 to those of us here.
I used to laugh at some of the posters here, not you Jimbo, that kept posting that the Sunday Ticket deal was going to bankrupt Google.

This is a company that has a $1.7 Trillion Market Cap and is sitting on $150 Billion in cash right now, it is like pocket change.

Yes, now that the Internet didn't crash and streams were good quality, that is what to look out for
Unfortunately, with Google having (so Far) No Issues ....

I expect the ST to go up considerably each year ...

It went from $350 list price on D* last year, to $450ish list price on YT this year ... Where are we going, $6-700 in a few years .... for maybe 12 games in a year, if you get it for just your team ... (most teams are on National at least a few times a year) ...

I sure HOPE NOT, or they will loose a bunch of subs, I think they MAY be almost topped out for the avg fan already.

Again, Google knows what they are doing, if they increase the price too much, too fast, they will chase subs away.

Also, it was not $450 originally, remember the early bird deal where it was $100 off , also if you are a YTTV sub, even a bigger discount, hence why my price was only $249.

I assume they will be doing the same next year, maybe not as big of a discount, I was expecting $299 anyways this year, glad it was less.

I'm paying $15 a month for replays and Red Zone and NFL Network, for three months. So I'm good.

The price will go up, but probably not prohibitively so.

This doesn't really make any sense or track with the trajectory of any service I've ever subscribed to. I expect increases, but I'd be surprised if it's more than $50 more than it is now within the next few years.

If anything I expect smaller packages to continue to attract new customers at other price points and other flexible options DirecTV was not capable or willing to do.
