Does anyone know the range of the RF remote? I have two HD DVR's in different rooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) and wouldn't want my switching channels on the unit in the living room to accidentally change the channel on the unit my wife is watching in the bedroom. I have an RF remote on my BOSE home theater system and it works pretty much anywhere in the house, upstairs or downstairs, so that is why I ask.
According to Directv's website, the HD DVRs already have a built in RF antenna, so this is a cause for some concern. But, maybe I could just program the RF remote to only control one particular receiver?

don't worry, there will not be any conflicts between the RF remotes, because the RF remote is married to a given receiver using RID #. It will only control that one receiver. But if wish you can control multiple Rf receivers with one remote, by marrying the receiver to given device on the remote.
The only component the directv RF remote will control via RF, is one of the current Directv RF receivers, so it will not control your bose. It won't even control older Directv RF receivers from RCA, Sony, Hughes, or Uniden, not by RF that is.

That looks awfully black on the back...my Bengals remote is brown on the back...you'd think the Bengals would be black and the Browns would be...well, brown?
This is perfect, I was looking to order a couple of extra remotes for the wife and I, got each of our teams and now we will be able to tell which remotes control which receivers.... god I hope they do this for baseball next year....
It is brown on the back. A dark brown. Just like the uniforms.

Yes they do allow you to enter address.
the range is 150ft. but as already posted each remote gets a specific id from the receiver you're programming it for so you don't have to worry.
I just placed my order yesterday afternoon for my Steelers remote and the wife called me at work before 10 AM and was asking what she was doing holding a Steelers remote. I could not believe it came that quick. I did not have time to explain the reason I need an RF remote. Oh well it is here now and I cant wait to see it.

She gave me and address for internet purchases, and sure enough when i entered my zip code it told me to call Directv again.
I told her what it said and she was gone for a few minutes then came back and stated that her supervisor had tried to order a remote for me and they are all out of stock.
I do not believe that, but I am caught running around in circles. I have emailed customer service and explained the problem and will post here if they have anything intelligent to say.

I think they send out the NFL Remotes to all the soon-to-be miserable places to live leaving Hawaiians last in line. Should be a law that you have to walk to your TV to change the channel in Hawaii; Go Warriors!
I don't do this kind of thing often but I ordered a Seahawks remote. I'm not much into buying team logo stuff and all together, between the Seahawks and Redskins, I have two t-shirts and two caps. Go Hawks!!!!

I received an email from customer service regarding the remote. They said a "specialist" would be intouch within 24 hours or so. They also offered the opportunity to call their number ending in 5000.
I called and a very nice lady tried to order a remote for me, and was unsuccessful. She has forwarded an email farther up the chain.
The killer is that I was not particularly interested in getting a remote. I only got in to it becaue I had informed my nephew about them and he tried to order via the internet.
Of course he was unsuccessful. I figured that I would give it a try.
Now that I see that I am unable to get one on order I have become determined to get one....
