Can anyone tell me if this is a C/KU lnb and if it is worth using for minibud. It was salvaged from 10' paraclipse.

yep thats a C/KU

Bottom part is C-Band and top is KU

the ku is a 1.6 and the C looks like a 30... both are pretty old and would work with the 10' but...

I used a 25K C-Band LNB on a 6 footer and it was questionabale....so on a minibud...probably not much

A couple of us have proven you can get the really strong transponders with a 18" dish and a finely tuned LNB (skew is very critical with that)

Here is something I did a year ago with an 18" dish and KU band. Its G3 (which is real close to my true south)

I used a 30 degree California Amplifier C band LNB on my 90cm mini-bud . Seamed to do as good as could be expected ?

You could always keep the C/Ku feedhorn and replace both LNBs with newer, lower noise models. A C/Ku feedhorn is useful
