Does someone know where I can obtain a Sat Map listing the location and the current and former names of the birds. I'm having trouble understanding what satellites are being discussed in the forum; especially when trying to use the information to program the 4dtv.

Thank you,

Ron

4dtv - New I.D. - Location
W7 - AMC7 - 137.0w (also known as F1 before W7)
C4 - AMC10 - 135.0w (also known as F4 before C4)
G1 - G15 - 133.0w
C3 - AMC11 - 131.0w (also known as F3 before C3)
T7/L7 - G27 - 129.0w (This satellite had a massive failure a few years ago and programming moved to IA 13 @ 121.0w and Motorola changed the name of IA 13 to T7 and remains the location for T7 on 4dtv @ 121.0w)(also T7 was later known as IA7 and is now known as G27 @ 129.0w)
G9/X9 - G13 - 127.0w
G5 - G14 - 125.0w
G0/X0 - G18 - 123.0w (this satellite just became G18, was G10 and most people here may still call it G10?)
T7 - G23 - 121.0w (this satellite was also known as IA 13, but is T7 on 4dtv)
M5 - Satmex5 - 116.8w
M2 - Satmex6 - 113.0w (also known as Solidaridad H2)
E2 - Anik F2 - 111.1w
F1 - Anik F1 - 107.3w (formerly known as E1)
W5 - W5 - 105.0w (formerly known as AMC2/K2)
W1/K1 - AMC1 - 103.0w
W4/K4 - AMC4 - 101.0w
G4/X4 - G16 - 99.0w
T5/L5 - G25 - 97.0w (formerly known as IA5)
G3/X3 - G3 - 95.0w
T6/L6 - G26 - 93.0w (formerly known as IA6, this satellite just had a massive failure and programming has been moving and is still moving?)
GB/XB - G17 - 91.0w (formerly known as G11 recently, and known as G7/X7 before it was GB/XB)
T4/L4 - G28 - 89.0w (formerly known as IA8)
W3/K3 - AMC3 - 87.0w
W9/K9 - AMC16 - 85.0w (formerly AMC9, also AMC9 is now at 83.0w, you could use W9 at either 85.0w or 83.0w?)
K5 - AMC5 - 79.0w (note this is Ku-Band only)
G6/B6 - Horizon2 - 74.0w
W6/K6 - AMC6 - 72.0w

Hope this helps..!!!

Thank you VoomVoom. That is a great piece of work you have put together. It is the most comprehensive I have see published anyplace. I have copied it off to a Word file and printed it out. It will be a handy reference file for me to use when trying to locate some obscure referenced bird.

On a different note: I would suggest you consider making this a sticky post for the many of us less knowledgeable enthusiasts.

I am truly grateful for the time you have taken to do the research and type out this reply.

Ron
