Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Enjoy this episode a lot! La'an was great as the "Evil Vulcan". I got some good chuckles out of that. The hair on Pike was great. The scene after the end titles was great! 4/5 for this one.

Y'know, I really liked this episode up until the twist in the last act and then they went and shot it in both feet! Why in the name of everything Trek are the writers/showrunner of SNW hell-bent on borrowing from everything and redoing TOS in what is, supposedly, a prequel to TOS? I'll give this a 3/5 because it was entertaining until the twist hit. Then they drove it into a ditch...

If anyone can figure out what the final episode was about, I'd be interested.

The costume department went ape again.

I was bummed that my friend died right after the Season 2 finale cliffhanger. Now, I don't feel so bad that he missed out on Season 3 of Strange New Worlds. It wasn't worth the wait.

That said, it was a better season than Enterprise and the time-traveling space Nazis season .

The ending premise was so convoluted, it's like they were writing and re-writing as they were shooting it. They were pulling things out their a**s.

I kind of liked the reference to a certain time traveling Doctor made by the engineer. That is the second time I have seen them mention Dr. Who.

If you take the original Ghostbusters movie and overlay the basic plot elements with this episode (good vs. evil), and then mix in the Ghostbusters vs. Gozer (Marie vs.Gamble), and instead of a burning, giant marshmellow man, you just have a quick, easy battle that's over in a matter of moments, then, essentially you have this episode (in a nutshell). Sheesh!

I give this sequel episode a 2/5. As for the entire season, a 3/5. If they hadn't shot "Terraium" in both feet, I might be tempted to give the season a slightly higher rating, but that wasn't the case...
