Testing the waters before juming in

I was wondering if there are any members who live in the NY/NJ area with a C-band setup? The reason I ask is because I would like test if I can downlink any of the following sats from my neck of the woods before I make the investment (and commitment):

Amazonas 61W 4174 H tp 19 DVB 3330-3/4
Intelsat 1R 45W 3759 V tp 4 FREE 1 100 200 Sp
SatMex 6 113W 3759 V tp 3C2 DVB 2120-3/4
SatMex 6 3944 V tp 13C3 FREE 768 769 Sp

I wouldn't think of trying it with anything less than an 8 foot C band dish, and I would want the margin of a 10 footer. Satmex 6 3759 V 2120 is on the C2 beam which is aimed at South America so you won't see that at all. The footprint maps for Amazonas as well as IS1R put you on the 36dbw line, so I would want to have a dish with some decent gain. With IS1R You have a satellite that it loaded up with signals 2.5 degrees to it's east and it's sister satellite IS3R only 2 degrees to it's west, so the narrower beamwidth of a 10 footer would be advantageous. Also remember that IS3R will be down in the Southeast so you will need the proper look angle to see it.

Hi Wyr, I'm trying to get channels from Paraguay. But given my inexperience with satellite FTA, I don't want to spend a ton of money, plug it all in and then see hash on my TV screen. So I want to test drive it before. Thank you for your help. Blessings. PF
