This was all I could find on the Skyvision site.

I will be putting up a W5 fixed system for someone I know in the next month. We ordered a Fortec Star 6 foot fixed dish a DSR 410 and a Geosat C band LNBF. My question is this since I never played with a C band LNBF, is there some kind of static settings or markings on the LNBF for zero like with a ku ones on an offset dish? Any input would be appreciated.

I have won over another cable subscriber over to c band. He can't wait to give cable the hee ho... :)

Is W5 the same as AMC5 or is this some other designation? And can I get W5 stuff on a 4DTV 922?

As near as I can tell, AMC18 (or AMC15) isn't in the 4DTV sat listing. I'm assuming that I have to use one of those "generic" sat designations such as CA for this?

W5 is in the list. You might need to update the channel maps

I know W5 is in my 905

Well, the 4DTV moves the dish every night for updates (I think it goes to C3?). Several of the sats aren't labeled correctly. Maybe if I had a subscription it would show up? I've already tried unplugging/replugging the power to the 4DTV. I haven't had a sub in about 6 years. At least they keep the 4DTV time correct.

I dont have a sub on my 905 and I got the maps when they first came out. I move my dish to G5 (125W) channel 100 and get the maps

Check in your sat list to see if its there. It might be in the list but not added to your sats that you can flip to.

I tried 3 times this morning and W5 still doesn't show up (twice on G5-100). This is typical behavior for the 4DTV anyway. Sometimes I end up with ghost sats (i.e. 2 T5's). I'll try again later. I'm assuming that W5 is C-band but I checked both the C and Ku sat map. BTW, G5-100 gives me a signal quality of 96% so I'm definitely seeing the bird.

Is SRL associated with Skyvision? It appears so since I get redirected to Skyvision.

Looks like I'll need to try a master reset. I think I'll wait until I replace the battery first. Not looking forward to having to reprogram all the sats and the limits.

Well, I did a master reset but after being on G1-3 for over 2 hours there was no updating done at all. Is the receiver suppose to be off or on for updates?

nope it can be on

Thanks. Turns out that my calculations for G1 were off by 1 sat east. But now I'm on G1 and I have positively identified the sat I'm parked on is G1. However, after being parked on G1-3 for the past 12 hours, I'm still not getting W5 in the satellite map and the time is still incorrect. :(

Well, I tried one last unplug/replug of the AC power before going to work this morning and when I returned home W5 is now shown in the map.

When Im done he will have perfect OTA and satellite at every tv in his house. Just like my house is set up :D His own cable system so to speak :)

Hi Tvropro, Can you please help me to understand how this can be done and the components involved? I'm trying to get here. I have OTA ATSC locals now, still hunting for a good 922 to sub 4DTV.

Thanks.

You have to modulate the Satellite and OTA signals. Then mix them into the master antenna system and send it off to each tv through a distribution amp/ splitters etc.
